Wavelab 7 Dongle Crack Software

ORIGINAL: sandman5000 Wavelab was the one Steinberg product that was cool like Cakewalk (PG always answers in their forums). But they will be using dongles in this version:(.

A real shame Steinberg had to%$#-up PG's cool program. I refuse to support companies that treat customers like theives. Then who will you support? I own Wavelab and I've kind of had it with software companies. If I have to run the crack, I will no longer pay for the privledge. Cakewalk isn't far behind them I figure. Then who will you support?

Damn good question. I too am extremely sad about the dongle. WaveLab's license used to be that you could install on any number of systems provided they weren't being used concurrently. I NEED to be able to also work at home or on a notebook or wherever.

Feb 7, 2014 - And yes, it wasn't possible in Wavelab LE 7 which quite sucked, works fine. You'll need a physical dongle to use it on 2 or more computers. (Future Publishing Limited) with their constant 'cracked software in videos' thing. I do fear though, that instead of the dongle they would switch to an. The current system actively prevents me from using this software in my work.

Why Steinberg, or whomever is responsible, had to change it after so many years is beyond me. Support from Philippe (developer) is nothing short of excellent. And it's one of those programs that make you think 'Too bad all software wasn't written this well'.

Lots of talk about it at the WaveLab forum: What are the good, professional mastering programs out there? Out of curiosity, why is a dongle a problem. Can't you just install the software on a workstation and laptop and move the dongle to the system that needs the license?

Or is the dongle linked to a system somehow? It's been my understanding that the dongles used for other software could travel from system to system, so it should pose no problem for someone using just 1 system at a time. If anyone has an answer, I'd appreciate being filled in. Perhaps Steinberg does things differently from others. ORIGINAL: Maneswar Out of curiosity, why is a dongle a problem. Well, my copy (legal of course) of Wavelab 3 still works. There really haven't been any real musts for me to upgrade. But Wavelab 3 is getting a bit old and I'm wondering if there is anything better.

Too bad Wavelab 6 is now out of consideration. Some alternatives mentioned are Soundforge (Sony!

Can't decide which is worse. Steinberg or Sony. That leaves Adobe Audition. I'll have to check it out and see how it compares to Wavelab.

It's really too bad because Philippe (PG) is soooo cool. It's out of his hands though and he has mentioned not being thrilled about it. Depends on the software and license. My view and anecdote, FWIW, on the dongle thing as expressed in the WaveLab forum: I had to pay for my second backup dongle for Cubase.

Gets expensive. In any event, am I the only person that regularly works at more than one computer? Aside from the defective dongle concern, I not only spend time in my studio but I'd go crazy if I couldn't work at home, or on my laptop, or in the meeting room. Do I trust myself to not forget the dongle at the last place I was at?

Not a chance in hell. After using some form of Cubase since, I think, 1990 (Cuebeat on an Atari ST) I believe I've had enough. I'm in the process of trying SONAR 5. It uses no copyright protection and the last time I looked, Cakewalk was a hugely successful company. Just before Christmas I developed a prob with one of two Waves dongles so they couldn't get me upgraded to a newer version.

Long distance calls and time spent, they didn't have one of my dongles in their system. Said it was registered to someone else! I ended up having to scan the damn dongle, convert to PDF, and email the thing to Waves to prove my ownership. More than three weeks later (holidays notwithstanding), three followup emails later, and I still haven't heard from them. Glad I found some new plug-ins made by others.

I've loved WaveLab since it's inception. For years I tell people that it's my idea of how all software should be written. I use a lot of software. It's also made my life a bit easier, more efficient and more enjoyable by allowing me to work on different systems. Philippe has been nothing short of exemplary with his technical support as well. But I'm stunned by how sad I am right now. Don't mean to be maudlin but I simply won't be able to keep doing what I do.
